You type "best AI sales tool" into Google and get 30 listicles. Each one ranks 10-15 tools by features, pricing tiers, and G2 ratings. By the time you've read three of them, you've seen 45 tools and you're more confused than when you started.
Those articles are written for an audience with an ops person who can evaluate tools, an admin who can configure them, and a budget for a 6-week pilot. If you have a 5-person sales team and none of those things, most of that advice doesn't apply.

Why feature comparisons fail small teams
A feature matrix is the default way to compare software. Rows of capabilities, columns of vendors, checkmarks everywhere. The problem is that a 5-person team uses maybe 15% of any tool's features. The other 85% is noise that makes the interface harder to navigate and the setup more complex.
Here's what actually happens when a small team chooses a tool based on features:

The three questions
Instead of comparing features, ask three questions. A tool that passes all three is worth trying. A tool that fails any one probably isn't — regardless of how impressive its feature list looks.
Question 1: Can we use it this week without training?
This is the single strongest predictor of whether a small team will actually adopt a tool.

Question 2: Does it actually reduce total time on the workflow?

Question 3: Does it require a CRM we don't have?
This is the hidden blocker that kills more small-team deployments than any other factor.
